GCSE PE INDOOR CLIMBING

We deliver our courses in line with your specific syllabus criteria e.g. AQA or Edexcel, ensuring you get the exact evidence required to maximise your students’ grades.

Our most popular GCSE courses are climbing & cycling but we also deliver a number of other non-GCSE PE outdoor activities including archery, caving, abseiling & high ropes, should you like to add some additional fun activities.

Our courses were created by the owners of High Adventure who are former PE teachers and experts in the field. Tim Ferguson, one of the owners, is a published author of a GCSE P.E revision book.

Our GCSE PE Indoor Climbing course is delivered in our on site 10m indoor climbing wall which is complimented by a dedicated bouldering room ideal for perfecting fitness and technique. Facilitated by expert instructors, we can deliver safe, challenging and fun indoor climbing GCSE courses that offer something for everyone.

What will your pupils learn on our GCSE PE Indoor climbing Course?

As well as gaining experience & completing a progressive range of climbs increasing in difficulty as your student’s ability and technique develop, including a speed climbing competition; your pupils will be taught the following skills:

* Correct fitting and use of helmets and harnesses.

* Ropework and knots relevant to your syllabus e.g. rope coiling and Fig 8.

* Safe belaying techniques, including lowering climbers.

* Correct communication calls.

* climbing techniques and skills e.g. mantelshelf, smearing, flagging and bridging.

* Traversing techniques.

* Overhang climbing techniques.

* Speed Climbing competition.

* Abseiling (if required by your syllabus).

Where will your pupils stay during their GCSE PE Course?

Your pupils will stay in warm, comfortable dormitory rooms at High Adventure Outdoor Education Centre in Yorkshire, with all meals provided. We have separate teacher rooms and a dedicated teacher coffee lounge, with comfy leather sofas. We've recently created a new social space that is a great classroom & doubles up as a large cinema room for down time in the evenings.

To get the most out of the course, we recommend a minimum of 2 full days to complete.
