Zip Wire (on-site)

Zip wire is a real thrill activity, which is great for group support and encouragement, individual confidence, and achievement. Flying across the length of our site big smiles and laughter are guaranteed. Children wear a helmet and a full body safety harness.

HIgh Adventure Day 2 April 17 High Res-156.jpg

Leap of Faith (on-site)

Climb up to stand on a platform around 8 metres above the ground, then leap off and catch a bar which is dangling a short distance in front of you. That is the challenge that you face on our leap of faith; you are of course roped on in harness and helmet and therefore safe throughout.

Jacob's Ladder (on-site)

Up to 3 children work together to reach the top of our 8 metre Jacobs ladder challenge; Climbing horizontal beams that grow ever further apart some clever ‘out of the box’ thinking and innovative ideas will be needed. A true team challenge that will encourage and develop problem solving.

labyrinth06-930x620.jpg

Labyrinth (on-site)

Always one of our most popular sessions; an indoor underground maze, bringing caving indoors. Two levels of passageways and chambers with obstacles along the way. Kids will explore the maze trying to find locations and different exits; with the lights on & off to increase the challenge.

Hook a Duck (on-site)

A giant version of the classic game it takes its name from but the “hook” had to be controlled by the whole team at the same time via a system of ropes and pulleys. Clear communication and patience are the keys to success on this one.

Giant SUPs (off-site)

Our Giant stand up paddle boards are pretty unique, 5m surfboards that will take 8 group members who stand and paddle the board. A very wet session that will be full of laughs as the team are challenged to move around the board, compete in fun games, and keep their balance.

Archery (on-site)

Following an introduction, children receive coaching for their first arrows, until they are confident and have the skills needed to get arrows on target. Children use bows appropriate to their size and strength and kids will enjoy fun based archery games & challenges.

FAMILIES 8 MAY 21.jpeg

Adventure Walk (off-site)

Kids will explore and learn about the local area. Taking in Earl Crag and the pinnacle monuments, views across The Yorkshire Dales, Lancashire, and Yorkshire, scrambling and weaselling along the rock outcrops, playing games and exploring the natural environment.

Low Ropes.jpg

Low Ropes (on-site)

Working with peer’s children will negotiate a series of obstacles to complete the whole low ropes course without touching the ground. All obstacles are less than 1m off the ground making this a very accessible activity that requires the same skills as our high ropes.

Stompers (on-site)

The team is split into a couple of smaller groups each of which is given a set of stompers, think two giant skis with rope handles attached for each person. Then all they have to do is be the first group to navigate the course set out for them without falling over or tripping over each other.

Spiders Web (on-site)

Just get your team from one side of the giant spiders web to the other… the problem is that you can only use each gap in the web once, the gaps are all different sizes and you can’t touch it! A quite physical and hands on activity where your team will need to come up with a good plan.

Stream Scramble (off-site)

Putting on helmets and buoyancy aids, pupils will explore our local stream system. An exciting wet session focusing on personal challenge and resilience. Scrambling along the stream, fun games and challenges will see personal confidence increase.

Moon Walk (on-site)

Your team has to make their way around the Moon Walk course using just themselves and the crates provided, avoiding the obstacles en route, avoiding losing and of their equipment, without stepping on the floor and without earning any forfeits. Think of it as a variation of The Floor Is Lava.

Carleton Primary Climbing 2018 I.jpg

Bouldering (on-site)

Our dedicated Bouldering facility is designed to provide the excitement and challenge of climbing at a level much closer to the floor, thus removing any fear of heights. The boulder wall is at its highest 2.5m with a deep filled crash mat covering the entire floor.

Sumo Suits (on-site)

Sumo suits are all about fun and laughter; dress in our oversized padded sumo suits and try to wrestle you partner to the floor. Padded matting, and suits ensure comfort and safety. If you think the wrestling sounds hard wait until you try to get back up from the floor, everyone’s sides will hurt with laughter!

aYa6Uy7w.jpeg

Caving (off-site)

A session exploring the underground world of limestone caves and passageways in the Yorkshire Dales. Groups will learn about the processes involved in the creation of caves and the unusual formations seen. An exciting new world awaits where kids will gain personal confidence.

HIgh Adventure Day 2 April 17 High Res-21.jpg

Marble Run (on-site)

All your team has to do is get a ball (we’ll start easy with something bigger and slower and work up to the marble) from where the instructor lets go of it and drop it into the bucket a short distance away. Sounds easy right?... the problem is that the ball can only touch the piece of guttering...
