The Hope Tech CX BOOT CAMP at High Adventure

WHAT IS IT?

A 2 day residential CX training camp. [J A B C D E Youth Riders Explained:  J = U18; A = U16; B = U14; C = U12; D = U10; E = U8 – this is a guide for each camp and not a strict rule]

The riders will stay at a High Adventure Outdoor Education Centre in Yorkshire: the cost includes:

• all food and accommodation
• Cyclocross coaching sessions ~ Saturday & Sunday
• a specialist 'Yoga for Cyclists' session
• a specific 'Nutrition for Cyclists' session delivered by an industry expert with over 30 years experience and our training camp sponsor: Secret Training who are giving all our riders a 'Secret Training GOODY BAG'
• Hope Tech T-Shirt
• Gladiator Challenge / Jacobs Ladder / High All Aboard / Leap of Faith

WHAT DOES IT COST? £145 - which includes everything. Food, accommodation, training, free Secret Training GOODY BAG too, Hope Tech T-Shirt, Yoga for Cyclists and tonnes and tonnes of fun.

CANCELLATION POLICY: As this is an oversubscribed event, we are unable to refund your place/s in the event that you need to cancel. All tickets are non-refundable once purchased. 

WHAT DO YOU NEED?

• A clean, working bike
• 2 complete sets of cycle clothing - the Dales weather can be wet :)
• Appropriate equipment:  helmet, cleats, gloves and the list goes on…
• Ride out nutrition - these are your own personal 'snicky snacks’.
• A POSITIVE MENTAL ATTITUDE – this is a smile on your face, a steely resolve, a never say die approach and an ability to go in to your own personal RED ZONE.

Room Allocation

Young racers will share rooms with others of a similar age and gender.

Any parents staying will share a room with another parent of the same gender (other than couples).

CX Training

We will be using 2 different CX venues.  Saturday is at Broughton Hall - home of one of the rounds of the National CX Series and the Sunday venue is at Ian Weatherills (Hope Technology) private CX Course.  Lead coach is Huw Williams.

High Ropes

Gladiator Challenge / Jacobs Ladder / High All Aboard / Leap of Faith ~ its the full bundle.  Teamwork required in the Jacobs Ladder and High All Aboard, an individual race on the Gladiator Challenge and a personal mind of matter battle to to do the ‘Leap of Faith’.

OPTIONS FOR PARENTS: You can either drop your young racer and go (have the weekend off) or you can stay at the centre (the cost would be £80 - 2 nights accommodation, breakfast on Sat & Sun, packed lunch on Sat & Sun and evening meal on Sat) and enjoy the Dales - ride out yourself, visit the area for sight seeing, walking or whatever floats your boat.
