WHAT IS IT?

A 2 day residential road training camp for C, D & E Youth Riders [A B C D E Youth Riders Explained:  A = U16; B = U14; C = U12; D = U10; E = U8 – this is a guide for each camp and not a strict rule]. Safe and appropriate road riding on beautiful Dales roads. An introduction to time trialling, rollers & group riding.

The riders will stay at an outdoor education centre: the cost includes:

* all food and accommodation

* vehicular supported rides on both the Saturday & Sunday

* Individual time trial

* a specialist 'Yoga for Cyclists' session

* a specific 'Nutrition for Cyclists' session delivered by an industry expert with over 30 years experience and our training camp sponsor: Secret Training who are giving all our riders a 'Secret Training GOODY BAG'

* post ride 'minimum bike maintenance' workshop

* Also included is The Labyrinth, which is an indoor cave maze activity and High All Aboard, which is a team based High Ropes Activity.

WHAT DO YOU NEED?

* A clean, working bike

* 2 complete sets of cycle clothing - the Dales weather can be wet :)

* A 'WET BAG' - this is a small bag of emergency extras that we put in the support vehicle, your road ride maintenance set up - usually a saddle bag, multi tool, pump and inner tube (fear not our support vehicle has better equipment) - we ask you to carry this as part of the training.

* Ride out nutrition - these are your own personal 'snicky snacks’.

* A POSITIVE MENTAL ATTUTUDE – this is a smile on your face, a steely resolve, a never say die approach and an ability to go in to your own personal RED ZONE.

Room Allocation

Young racers will share rooms with others of a similar age and gender.

Any parents staying will share a room with another parent of the same gender (other than couples).

Ride Outs

Will have vehicle support – the minibuses will carry your WET BAG – this is your bag full of emergency (extra) layers of stuff to keep you dry and warm and your packed lunch.  The emergency clothing in your ‘wet bag’ SHOULD NOT be included as part of your 2 complete sets of cycle clothing for the weekend!  If things go to plan you will return with your ‘wet bag’ in tact minus your packed lunch each day.

High Ropes & Labyrinth

Solo navigate through our cave-maze labyrinth and form a strong team bond in our high ropes TEAM CHALLENGE”

OPTIONS FOR PARENTS: You can either drop your young racer and go (have the weekend off) or you can stay at the centre (the cost would be £75 - 2 nights accommodation, breakfast on Sat & Sun, packed lunch on Sat & Sun and evening meal on Sat) and enjoy the Dales - ride out yourself, visit the area for sight seeing, walking or whatever floats your boat.
